Inflorescences long peduncle, with yellow flowers, formed mainly in March-April.
The fruit pods are narrow, flat, brown, spiral when opening exposing the seeds, which has wide use in making crafts and jewelry.
Produces a way reddish-brown, used in heavy construction and joinery.
The plant has ornamental attributes, being used in landscaping and tree planting in parks and streets.
Typically tropical plant of rapid growth and great hardiness, is not recommended for cultivation in the highlands of Brazil.
