Foliage small, deciduous and usually becomes red before falling in winter. Smooth trunk and ornamental (marbled appearance). Flowers usually in spring and summer, the flowers usually bloom in new branches and are the colors: white, pink, crimson or purple, depending on the variety.
Moderate growth.
Species used in very small gardens, large areas are best planted in groups. Ideal for urban trees because their size does not disrupt electrical wirings.
