Trunk and branches with thorns. Displays deciduous foliage, with compound leaves and trifoliate leaflets glabrous and leathery. It blooms from July to September, with the plant usually stripped of foliage, with orange flowers and much visited by hummingbirds, parakeets and parrots that feed on its nectar. Moderate growth.
Species highly ornamental, especially when in bloom. Used in landscaping
of medium to large areas and in parks and plazas.
