Size ranges from 7 to 15 meters.
Stem simple, curly, dilated at the base and with the palm exposed. The leaves are pinnate, with leaflets curled and arranged uniformly, long and outstanding. The fruits are purplish black color of ellipsoids.
Moderate growth.
Most common species in the state of São Paulo, when young, can be used successfully in pots, because it has a reddish tint to their foliage. Ideal for parks and gardens as plant alone or in groups. Can be used in afforestation of medians.
